Job Title: Travel LPN

Schedule: 8:30 -hour shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM).

Duration: 13-week contract position

Summary: As a Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will undertake short-term assignments in a Rehabilitation Centre or a Long-Term Care Facility. Your primary responsibility is to assist in patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the well-being of patients during your temporary assignments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
  2. Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to proper dosage and schedules.
  3. Vital Signs: Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
  4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, nursing interventions, and progress notes.
  5. Collaborative Care: Work closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  6. Wound Care: Provide wound care and dressing changes to promote healing and prevent infections.
  7. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
  8. Infection Control: Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and healthcare staff.
  9. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide immediate care to stabilize patients.
  10. Adherence to Policies: Comply with healthcare facility policies and procedures during the assignment.
  11. Safety Measures: Ensure the safety of patients and adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
  12. Continual Learning: Stay updated with advancements in nursing practices and attend relevant professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Completion of a state-approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  2. Licensure: Valid and current LPN license in the state of practice.
  3. Experience: Prior experience as an LPN, especially in relevant healthcare settings, may be preferred for travel assignments.
  4. Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  5. Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work in various locations and healthcare facilities for short-term assignments.
  6. Time Management: Excellent organizational skills to manage patient care and documentation efficiently.
  7. Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  8. Certifications: Additional certifications in specialized areas of nursing may be beneficial for certain travel LPN assignments.
