Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Schedule: 8.30-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM).
Duration: 13-week contract position
Summary: Join our dynamic rehabilitation team as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Gallup, NM. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills, articulation, language fluency, and swallowing function.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on effective communication strategies and home exercises to support the treatment plan.
- Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Stay abreast of advancements in speech-language pathology through continued professional development and training.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the development of rehabilitation programs.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
